Patients group calls for nationwide support for A&E protest

The "Patients Together" group is to stage a protest in Dublin today to highlight the ongoing A&E crisis in Irish hospitals.

The group is calling on members of the public across the country to protest at the same time outside their local hospitals' A&E departments.

The group says the protest is being supported by SIPTU, the Irish Nurses Organisation, and ICTU.

The demonstration will begin at the Garden of Remembrance and from there will continue on to Dáil Eireann.
