The Green Party has claimed that the Luas is proving to be so popular that many people are unable to get trams at the height of rush hour.

The party called on the Rail Procurement Service to act quickly and increase the frequency of the service, particularly on the Harcourt Street Line.

Transport spokesperson for the Greens Deputy Eamonn Ryan said passenger numbers are already 45% ahead of target.
