Latest figures from the 2001 census in the UK show ongoing discrepancies between employment rates between Protestants and Catholics in the North, while the gap between the numbers of the two groups continues to close.

According to the UK's 2001 census, 53% of the population has a Protestant background, while 44% is from the Catholic community.
