A 17-year-old man is recovering in hospital today after he suffered serious burns in Cork city, after he claimed he was set on fire on Barrack Street in the city.

A 17-year-old man is recovering in hospital today after he suffered serious burns in Cork city, after he claimed he was set on fire on Barrack Street in the city.

Gardaí are investigating claims the young man was approached by three men at the junction of Barrack Street and Dean Street - beside Reid’s Square - at around 3.30am.
