Govt urged to extend eligibility for Breastcheck scheme

The Irish Cancer Society has called on the Government to extend eligibility for the Breastcheck scheme to women over the age of 64.

The Irish Cancer Society has called on the Government to extend eligibility for the Breastcheck scheme to women over the age of 64.

At present, the free breast cancer screening scheme is only available to woman aged between 50 and 64.

However, the Cancer Society said women of all ages were at risk from breast cancer and the Government should therefore extend the age limit to 70.
