Two rescued from Lough Swilly

Two people have been rescued after their fishing boat suffered engine failure off Melmore Head, Co Donegal.

The Lough Swilly lifeboat, a rescue helicopter as well as several local vessels went to the aid of the mariners after severe sea conditions caused a four-metre swell.

One man was airlifted from the craft while the skipper remained with the boat that was towed into Mulroy bay by the lifeboat.

No one was seriously hurt in the incident.
