NUJ and GAA row over 'copyright grab'

A row has broken out between the GAA and the National Union of Journalists over what the union has described as a "copyright grab" by the Association ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland Hurling Final.

A row has broken out between the GAA and the National Union of Journalists over what the union has described as a "copyright grab" by the Association ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland Hurling Final.

The GAA has said that it will only issue accreditation to photographers who agree not to sell photos taken at the game as posters, in individual copies or to advertisers.

Seamus Dooley of the NUJ today said that these conditions were introduced at the last minute without consultation, and will damage the good and mutually beneficial relationship between the GAA and photographers.
