Irishman arrested after cocaine seizure at Brazilian airport

Police in Brazil have reportedly arrested a 19-year-old Irishman in connection with a cocaine seizure at Recife International Airport in Brazil earlier this week.

Police in Brazil have reportedly arrested a 19-year-old Irishman in connection with a cocaine seizure at Recife International Airport in Brazil earlier this week.

Reports this morning said the man allegedly tried to board a plane for London, via Lisbon, with three kilos of cocaine in his luggage.

The man is apparently from Dublin and this morning’s reports said he was receiving consular assistance from the Irish Embassy in Brasilia.

He could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of drug trafficking.
