A group representing the parents of children whose organs were retained without consent by Irish hospitals has criticised the establishment of a helpline for those affected by the scandal.

The Department of Health helpline, which opened this morning, was established in response to admissions from 21 Irish hospitals that they had removed the pituitary glands from dead children and provided them to pharmaceutical firms for research purposes.
