Man dies in Monaghan road accident

A 21-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a road traffic accident in Co Monaghan this morning.

The man died after the motorbike on which he was travelling and a car were in collision near Smithboro on the main Monaghan to Roslea Road at about 8.20am.

He was taken to Cavan General Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Gardai in Monaghan have appealed for witnesses.
