Divers resume search for missing tourist

Divers in Co Roscommon have resumed their search for a 71-year-old Swiss tourist who has been missing on Lough Ree since Monday.

The body of the man’s wife was recovered from the lake at Warren Point, near the village of Leecarrow, on Monday.

The couple’s boat was found yesterday on the shore of Inchmore Island with its engine still running.

The incident has mystified locals, who said the couple were frequent visitors to the area and were very familiar with Lough Ree and the River Shannon.
