Four British rowers who were rescued by a Scandinavian Reefer ship when their boat was damaged by a freak wave are being taken to Foynes Port in Co Limerick.

Four British rowers who were rescued by a Scandinavian Reefer ship when their boat was damaged by a freak wave are being taken to Foynes Port in Co Limerick.

Their boat, The Pink Lady was ripped in two in rough seas about 200 miles off the south west coast as the oarsmen attempted to set a record time for their trip from Newfoundland in Canada to Cornwall.

The sponsored row was to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
