Sligo man suffered multiple blows to the head

A murder inquiry was launched today after a post-mortem examination showed a man found dead in Sligo had suffered multiple blows to the head.

Paul Waters, from Avondale in Sligo, was found lying in an alleyway off the town’s Stephens Street.

The victim, who was in his 40s, was discovered yesterday morning.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact them.
