SF MEPs to use Europe to push reunification
Sinn Féin's two MEPs Mary Lou McDonald and Bairbre de Brun have said that they will use EU institutions to advance the cause of Irish reunification.
They have already joined a far-left political grouping made up of 15 communist and northern environmentalists.
Bairbre de Brun and Mary Lou McDonald have said they will use their parliamentary seats to further advance the peace process and fight for equality in both parts of Ireland and across Europe.
Mary Lou McDonald has said there is no conflict between Irish neutrality and moves to a common European Defence.
The pair have dismissed the DUP's Jim Alaistair who told the Taoiseach that attempts to give the Irish language official EU status is archaic nonsense, which should be left to Sinn Féin.
