Gardaí: Cavan teen did not die violently

Gardaí in Cavan have confirmed that the 14-year-old girl found dead in the town earlier this month did not die a violent death.

Jamie Farrelly-Maughan’s body was found at the rear of an unoccupied house in Harmony Heights on July 2.

She had been missing since the previous weekend.

Gardaí said today that forensic and toxicology tests had indicated that her death wasn’t violent.

Reports this morning claimed she died after taking an ecstasy tablet.
