Gardaí in Co Donegal have named the three teenagers who died in a road accident near Buncrana last night.

The victims were 18-year-old Shane Cuffe and 18-year-old Owen Patrick Doherty, both from Buncrana, and 16-year-old Aine O’Leary, from the Skerries area of Dublin.

The three died when the car in which they were travelling collided with a bridge and tree in Ballymagan at around 11pm.

Another 16-year-old girl was injured in the crash and is recovering in hospital in Derry.

Gardaí have revealed that she was the only person in the car who was wearing a seat belt.
