Govt 'not concerned' about smoking ban enforcement

Defence Minister Michael Smith has told the Dáil that the Government is not worried about the enforcement of the workplace smoking ban.

Mr Smith said the Government was satisfied with all aspects of the legislation governing the ban and was happy that the law was robust enough to ensure compliance and enforcement.

He was responding to questions about the Galway pub Fibber Magees, which has decided to openly defy the ban due to what the owners say is a significant drop in business since the smoking ban was introduced in March.
