Torture survivors seek support from Bush and Ahern

The Centre for the Care of Survivors of Torture group has called on the Taoiseach and the US President to increase support for torture care centres worldwide.

This, they claim, would be a manifest commitment from both leaders to eradicate torture worldwide.

A spokesperson for the group said that the visit should be used to speak for survivors worldwide.

Mike Walker called on Bertie Ahern and George Bush to show continued and increased support for such care centres around the world.
