The growing demand for private healthcare throughout the European Union will be discussed at an international conference in Dublin later today.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Irish consultant Noel Daly said the growing demand for private healthcare, particularly in the 10 new EU member states, was being driven by the efficiency of the private sector.

He predicted that private sector involvement in healthcare would increase across Europe in the years to come.
