Review group recommends major garda reform

A group established by the Government to review the workings of An Garda Siochana has reportedly recommended significant reform of the force.

Reports this morning said the group had recommended cuts in the number of garda divisions, garda districts and garda regions, which are run by superintendents, chief superintendents and chief commissioners respectively.
