SIPTU considers Aer Rianta talks pull-out
SIPTU members at Dublin Airport have demanded negotiations on a new national pay agreement be suspended until the Government promises Aer Rianta will not be dismantled.
The workers are meeting this morning to discuss a motion calling on the union’s leadership to withdraw from the negotiations.
The SIPTU branch at Dublin Airport said the Government was failing to honour its assurances that Aer Rianta would not be broken up if financial studies did not support the move.
Branch secretary Barry Nevin said: “There’s about five reports so far that the Government have published and each report casts doubt on what they’re trying to do.
"They’re not standing over their assurances and we hope that the motion this morning will be carried and that the leaders of SIPTU suspend the talks until the assurances are delivered.”
