The African Solidarity Centre has claimed that Irish political parties are riddled with institutional racism.

A report published by the centre today showed that the participation of immigrants in Irish politics was extremely low and was fuelling the wider racism problem.

UCD researcher Bryan Fanning, one of the authors of the report, said Irish political parties do not deliberately exclude minorities, but they could and should be doing more to welcome and embrace them.
