Workers at the Braun factory in Carlow are due to meet later today to discuss the possibility of all-out strike action.

The staff are already engaged in a work-to-rule protest and are refusing to engage in overtime as part of a dispute over the implementation of a new pay deal.

SIPTU, which represents 400 of the 650 workers, has described the situation as “very serious”.

Braun management, meanwhile, said future investment was being jeopardised by the unrest.
