The Chairman of the Dáil Transport Committee has called on the operators of LUAS to allow a week of free travel at off-peak times once the service commences.

The Chairman of the Dáil Transport Committee has called on the operators of LUAS to allow a week of free travel at off-peak times once the service commences.

Eoin Ryan, Fianna Fáil European election candidate in the Dublin constituency, has said that motorists, pedestrians and businesses in the city have been inconvenienced by the construction of the tram network.

A week of free travel at off peak hours would be an important goodwill gesture by the Railway Procurement Agency, he said.
