GRA assured after meeting Minister

The General Secretary of the Garda Representation Association has said he is somewhat reassured after talks with the Minister for Justice on the Jerry McCabe issue this evening.

The General Secretary of the Garda Representation Association has said he is somewhat reassured after talks with the Minister for Justice on the Jerry McCabe issue this evening.

PJ Stone describing his meeting with Michael McDowell as honest and forthright.

Mr Stone said a number of the proposals put forward by the GRA would be taken back to Cabinet.

He was speaking outside the Department of Justice where the talks took place,

“In relation to the continued custody of these people we are happy that they will continue to serve their sentence as a result of the meeting which we have had with the Minister today,” said Mr Stone.
