Gardaí are reportedly investigating a suspected €1.9m fraud at the Dublin branch of a major European bank.

Reports this morning said inquiries had already established that the money had been siphoned off from a series of deposit accounts at the branch and into a network of other financial institutions overseas.

The bank branch at the centre of the investigation is based in the Irish Financial Services Centre in Dublin’s docklands.

The bank invests funds on behalf of corporate customers and does not deal with the public.
