Report to recommend bigger Seanad electoral base

A report on Seanad reform due to be published today is expected to recommend a widening of the electoral base to allow more people to vote in Seanad elections.

The report is also expected to call for the Seanad to be given more input into legislation and for the number of senators to be increased from its current level of 60 to allow members from the North to take part.
