Govts receive ceasefire monitors’ first report

The body set up to monitor paramilitary ceasefires in the North is believed to have presented its first report to the Irish and British governments.

The Independent Monitoring Commission agreed to compile the report earlier than expected following allegations of Provisional IRA involvement in the attempted abduction of a dissident republican in Belfast in February.
