A group of non-Irish candidates contesting seats in this year’s local election has accused the Government of failing to encourage immigrants to cast their votes.

Speaking at the press conference today, the group said many immigrants were being denied the right to enter their names on the supplementary electoral register. It also said the Government was deliberately failing to encourage immigrants to cast their votes.
