ESB unions to vote on industrial action

Ballots held over the next seven weeks are expected to see a majority of ESB workers supporting industrial action against the company.

Although not clear yet what kind of action would be taken, consumers and businesses are facing a distinct possibility of power cuts during the summer months.

Recent talks between management and staff at the company have made no progress, with unions looking for an 18.5% pay rise and 20% of the company.
