Trocaire urges EU states to honour pledges on poverty

Trocaire has called on the Irish Government to pressure other EU countries into honouring their commitments on reducing world poverty.

The leaders of the 15 EU member states signed a document four years ago promising to halve global poverty by 2015. But Trocaire said today that little had been done to honour the pledge.
