Pharmacy influx to seek smoking advice

Pharmacists around the country have reported a huge increase in people seeking last minute

advice on how to quit smoking as the new smoking ban takes off.

Over 1,000 pharmacies throughout the country are running a special "Quit for Life" public information

campaign this week.

The campaign will run from March 29 to April 5.

"Ask here for Advice" posters are being displayed in the dispensary areas of pharmacies and trained pharmacists are on hand to offer effective advice on giving up the weed and other healthcare issues.

Speaking today Richard Collis, President of the IPU said: "So far we are delighted with the huge response we are getting in pharmacies to our "Quit for Life" campaign.

"Anyone who is considering quitting should have a chat with their local pharmacist who will be able to provide effective practical advice and on-going support," he added.
