Charities hit hard by postal strike

As the dispute at An Post enters into its second week, charities say they are being hit hard by the strike.

John Monaghan from Saint Vincent de Paul says the charity is being affected by losing contact with society as a result of the postal strike.

Everyday expenses are running up because donations through the post have stopped.

Talks between An Post and the Communications Workers Union broke up during the week.
