Man set on fire in Derry attack

A man is recovering in hospital after being been beaten up and set on fire during a vicious attack in Derry.

Four or five men attacked him while he walked alone through the Shantallow area of the city at 3am on Saturday morning.

One of the men sprayed flammable liquid in his face and set it alight.

He managed to get away and is being treated in hospital for burns to his face and his ear.
