Live register number falls in February

Figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the number of people on the Live Register fell by 1,402 people in February to 173,127, with the unemployment rate remaining at 4.7% for the fourth month in a row. The seasonally adjusted figure showed a drop of 900 to 170,100.

Figures from the Central Statistics Office show that the number of people on the Live Register fell by 1,402 people in February to 173,127, with the unemployment rate remaining at 4.7% for the fourth month in a row. The seasonally adjusted figure showed a drop of 900 to 170,100.

A breakdown showed that the monthly decrease comprised of 966 males and 436 females. In February the estimated number of casual and part-time workers on the live register was 8,968 males and 14,038 females.
