David Trimble today faced demands from MP David Burnside to step down as Ulster Unionist leader next month.

South Antrim MP Burnside issued the call at Stormont, triggering speculation that there will be a leadership challenge when the party’s ruling council gathers for its annual general meeting on March 27.
