Pedestrian killed in Co Cork road accident

A female pedestrian has died after being struck by an articulated lorry in Carrigaline, Co Cork, this morning.

The accident happened at around 9.30pm in the centre of the town.

The woman was pushing a pram across the road when she was struck by the truck. The baby in the pram survived the incident, but the woman died at the scene.

Gardaí are withholding her name until all next of kin are informed.
