Bord Pleanála approves Doonbeg golf course development

An Bord Pleanála has approved plans to build luxury accommodation, cottages, a clubhouse and a shop at the Doonbeg golf course in west Clare.

The owners of the Greg Norman-designed course said construction on the new facilities would begin this spring.

They also claimed that the development of the course represented the largest investment ever undertaken in the west Clare area.
