Examination ordered into site cranes in Dublin
The Health and Safety Authority has ordered an examination of all cranes on the Dublin building site where a damaged jib caused severe disruption to local residents and commuters last week.
Reports this morning said the Authority had also ordered the developer, Danninger, not to use cranes to transport material over the roofs of houses or private gardens in the Ringsend area.
Around 60 local residents were evacuated from their houses last week when a crane on the Danninger site in Ringsend partially collapsed during high winds.
The incident also caused severe disruption to rail services.
