A man has pleaded guilty to robbery and assault charges in New Ross District Court.

A man has pleaded guilty to robbery and assault charges in New Ross District Court.

The charges relate to the stabbing of a woman while she was working in her boutique in the town last Wednesday.

Diane Hamilton is now recovering in Waterford Regional Hospital.

43-year-old Francis Guilfoyle, from Kennedy Park in Thurles, was arrested by detectives yesterday morning and brought to New Ross Garda Station.
