Govt considering nomination for ECB vacancy

The Government has confirmed that it is considering putting forward a nomination for a vacancy on the board of the European Central Bank.

The position is expected to be given to a candidate from one of the four euro-zone countries that currently have no representation on the board. Ireland is one of these countries.
