Consultants meet minister in bid to end dispute

Hospital consultants are meeting with Health Minster Micheál Martin today in a last-ditch effort to resolve the dispute over insurance.

The Irish Hospital Consultants' Association is in deadlock with department officials over the Minister's proposals which could leave consultants open to legal action for past cases.

The group's General Secretary, Finbarr Fitzpatrick, says if the dispute is not resolved today, they will take action.
