Association slams phone rental price hike

The Consumers Association has criticised the Government today about the latest price hike for fixed line rental.

The association criticised the communications regulator’s decision to approve a 7.5% increase in eircom’s fixed-line rental rates.

The increase, which takes effect on February 4, will bring the monthly rental rate to almost €24, one of the highest in the European Union.

Director Dermot Jewel wants the Minsister for Communications to reverse the decision to up the price.
