Four killed in Co Tipperary road accident

Three women and a child have died in a road accident in Co Tipperary.

The crash involving four trucks and a car happened on the main Dublin to Cork road near Cahir at around 7.30am.

At least one of the truck drivers is also believed to have suffered serious injuries in the collision.

The accident has caused disruption to traffic on the N8 and motorists heading towards Cork have been advised to travel via Cloheen, Ballyporeen and Mitchelstown.
