SIPTU considers postponing action

SIPTU officials are due to meet later today to discuss Transport Minister Seamus Brennan’s latest effort to prevent strike action at Aer Rianta.

Mr Brennan has written to the union providing assurances about workers’ terms and conditions following the proposed break-up of Aer Rianta.

SIPTU is due to discuss these assurances today and to decide whether they are strong enough to warrant the postponement of a planned two-hour work stoppage at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports this Thursday.
