The British government and Northern Ireland’s Prison Officers Association have resolved their long-running dispute over security measures.

The threat of a nationwide strike by the Prison Officers’ Association in the UK ended after agreement was reached over increased home security measures for Northern Ireland members.

Details of the deal struck after two days of negotiation between the British government and the association in London are expected to be revealed in a joint statement later today.
