Man arrested for Dublin shooting

A 53-year-old man has been arrested and a firearm located following a shooting in a house in Clonsilla in West Dublin early today.

A 53-year-old man has been arrested and a firearm located following a shooting in a house in Clonsilla in Dublin early today.

The man was detained at a nearby residence during the course of follow up searches.

He is currently in custody in Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

A man was injured in the incident earlier today, when a number of shots were fired through the window of a house in Whitechapel Green between 12.30am and 12.50am.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the back, but was released from James Connolly Memorial Hospital a short time after being admitted.
