Dempsey 'orders crackdown on truant teachers'

Education Minister Noel Dempsey has reportedly ordered an inspection blitz next week to ensure that Irish schools are not closing early for Christmas.

Reports this morning said the inspectors would visit schools throughout the country on Tuesday to ensure that they were still open.
