A 92-year-old woman is being treated for shock today following a pipe bomb attack on her home in Co Fermanagh.

Gladys Patterson was sleeping in a bedroom at the rear of the house in the Brook area of Enniskillen at the time of the attack.

Mrs Patterson's daughter, Joan Carson is a former UUP Assembly member.

The PSNI said it believed the woman’s house was targeted mistakenly.

The pipe bomb shattered the windows of the house and caused damage to one room.

A suspicious device was also found outside a house in nearby Henry Street, but no-one was in the building at the time.
