Government urged to alter attitude on Travellers

A report on the culture of Irish Travellers has called on the Government to stop its policy of trying to force Travellers into settled accommodation.

The report said that around one quarter of Travellers in Ireland still live a nomadic lifestyle, despite intense efforts to house them over the past 40 years.
